Welcome to TBT Kesher Groups!

What is Kesher? The Hebrew word Kesher (קשר) means connection. The aim of this initiative is to meet congregants where they are and find activities that people will be excited to engage in during their free time.

How is it different from what we already have? Most programming at TBT is open to anyone and doesn’t require a commitment over time. The key feature of Kesher groups is that they are closed, structured, time-limited, and require a good-faith commitment to participate fully.

How does it work? The same group of 8-12 people will come together approximately monthly from September until May. Each group will have one designated leader.

What are group members expected to do?
The most important aspect of these groups is that the same people come together monthly for a programming year.
• Congregants are asked to make a commitment to prioritize attendance at all of the meetings.
• To facilitate this, the schedule will be set at the beginning of the year with member input to maximize the chances that everyone can come to all meetings.
• People are also limited to joining no more than two groups each year in order to minimize scheduling conflicts between groups and increase the opportunities for more people to join a group.
• To maximize the development of a cohesive group, members are not permitted to bring guests to the group unless invited by the leader for specific events.
