Our Mission

Temple Beth Tikvah is a vibrant, inclusive Reform Jewish community, guided by Torah and interconnected through our traditions and values of tikkun hanefesh (enriching our lives) and tikkun olam (improving the world).

Strategic Goals

1. Serve as a Vibrant Center for Jewish Life on the Shoreline

Establish TBT as the hub of Jewish spiritual, cultural, and communal life along the Connecticut shoreline. Create an environment where congregants of all ages, backgrounds, and affiliations feel at home.

2. Build a Thriving, Engaged Membership

Create a warm, inclusive, and dynamic community by providing multiple opportunities to deepen connections with our clergy, temple leadership, and each other. Experiment with innovative ideas of how to reach and engage new and established members.

3. Support Lifelong Jewish Learning

Inspire a lifelong love of Jewish learning by sustaining and growing our preschool, religious school and adult learning opportunities.

4. Foster a Culture of Philanthropy

Through our work on the first three goals, deepen our community’s commitment to giving their time, talent, and resources.

5. Achieve Financial Strength and Stability

Eliminate the remaining renovation debt and lay the groundwork for long-term financial health. Provide clear, transparent communication about our finances; serve as responsible stewards of our funds; and grow our endowment.

Temple Beth Tikvah is a Reform Jewish congregation with a commitment to inclusion, diversity, inspiring worship, youth and adult education, and meaningful social justice activities. Established in 1977, we are located near I-95, in the heart of the New Haven – Old Saybrook shoreline of Connecticut.

TBT serves as the focus of Jewish community life on the shoreline. We are proud to welcome Jews of many backgrounds and at all the stages of life. We hope you will consider participating in our vibrant Jewish community.
