TBT relies on volunteers like you to keep our activities and programs running! Most of the work of the temple is done through the committees of the Board of Directors. Your time and energy are greatly appreciated. Are you interested in how our religious services are run? Have a passion for Social Justice? Care deeply about our education programs? Like to plant flowers on spruce up day? Please contact the chair of the committee that you would like to serve on! You are welcome here and your energy and talents make a difference!

Contact the office at 203-245-7028 to get involved!

Who is the RAC and how we are involved in religious life at TBT?
The primary role of the RAC is to partner with the clergy to organize and implement all of the religious programming at the synagogue – from the High Holidays, to Shabbat, to special programs within and outside our community. We frequently collaborate with other committees at TBT, including the Education and Membership committees, Kol Ami (Women’s Group), Haverim (Men’s Group), and with other synagogues in the area.
In addition to the “granular” organizational and implementation work that we do, we are also actively engaged in thinking about new ways to enhance our worship experiences, at TBT and at home; as Rabbi Moss might say, to “build our spiritual muscles.” We are currently participating in a wonderful monthly discussion around the book “Jewish with Feeling: A Guide to Meaningful Jewish Practice” by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, which has generated a lot of exciting ideas about ways we can reimagine practices around Shabbat.
Getting involved with the RAC is a great way to meet other congregants, bring your ideas and opinions to the community, and most of all, to contribute to the vibrancy and health of TBT. You don’t need to know a lot about Jewish practice – in fact, this is a great way to learn! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Stu Weinzimer, RAC Chair
